He started singing at a very young age, creating his own musical style and focusing his compositions on social and cultural themes. His songs celebrate the identity and struggle of the Angolan people.

At 83 years old and with over 50 years of career, Bonga is a record-breaking artist worldwide! He has received numerous tributes, distinctions, medals, and gold and platinum records.

"Angola 72", his first album released in 1972, marked his journey by expressing his patriotic sentiment and the need for Angola's independence.
