PRET & BRONK FT VAMAR

PRET & BRONK FT VAMAR

From: Cabo Verde
On stage: Sun 07 Jul 21:00

They began their musical training on the island of São Vicente, where they grew up. Fate brought them together in the city of Praia, where they united to convey the freedom of their musical ideas. The group's youthful spirit allowed them to fearlessly take risks and showcase their boundless creativity. Additionally, their involvement in significant projects within Cabo Verdean music provided the professional expertise and skill necessary.

Today, the affirmation of the PRET & BRONK quartet symbolizes a generation, consisting of Bruno Lima on drums, Khaly Angel on keyboards, Vando Pereira on bass, and Enos Oliveira on guitar.

While the Quartet had already established themselves on the stages of São Vicente and Santiago, they sought to bring even more novelty to the third island stage - the first-ever stage at the KJF festival on Sal.

Joining them is Vamar Martins, another representative of this generation embracing freedom. Vamar has in his genes the music inherited from his parents. As a guitarist, he has built his own successful career, gaining recognition in various concert halls, particularly in Paris and European festivals. He receives widespread praise from international critics, primarily for his virtuosity and distinctive guitar style.

The rich tapestry of Jazz and Blues serves as the canvas, intertwining with the vibrant colors of Cabo Verdean genres such as morna, Coladera, Batuku, funaná, and Sanjon. This fusion is characterized by a profound improvisational ability. Within this musical universe, deeply rooted in Vamar's artistry, "INKRUSTOD" is born - the musician's first EP, encapsulating, in his own words, "what already resides within me." Vamar has also ventured in the field of theater, where he composed soundtracks.

The Quartet Pret & Bronk's jazzy breeze, merged with strong elements of improvisation, melds harmoniously with Vamar's island music, creating an evening filled with energizing vibrations that certainly taste like the future.
