The sons of the greatest funaná figure

Adelino Ferreira Vaz and Emílio Letício Ferreira Vaz, better known as “Fidjos di Codé di Dona,” or “Sons of Codé di Dona,” are the children of legendary funaná figure Codé di Dona, the name by which the late Gregório Vaz was best known.

The two got a very early start in music, given that their father was an excellent accordion player.
Initially they would attend his performances as mere spectators, as their older brothers at the time would accompany him on stage.

After their father’s death, the two brothers got together to form a group they called Fidjos di Codé di Dona, following their father’s example and using his diatonic accordion as a symbol and source of inspiration.
