AFRO CUBAN JAZZ PROJECT

From: Cuba
On stage: Fri 05 Apr 00:30

Jorge Reyes takes the orchestral baton in this intriguing project. His career as an instrumentalist begins with choosing the double bass as his stage partner. However, Reyes' rapid evolution and musical sophistication lead him to conduct groups of the new generation of Cuban musicians, a unique combination of academic and practical experience acquired in renowned groups such as Irakere.

The Afro-Cuban Jazz Project, a group of renowned names in Afro-Cuban music, performs as a quintet, a formation that provides wings and intensity to Afro-Cuban sounds. Alongside Reyes, Adel Gonzalez Gomez commands percussion, joining Narciso Jorge Hernandez on drums to complete the quintet's rich percussive palette.

The piano of Angel Toirac Barreda, a musician and producer with a remarkable penchant for the fusion between different musical genres, and the trumpet of Alejandro Rodriguez add the final touches, thus completing the quintet's formation.

What makes this proposal particularly interesting is the ability to bring more mix to KJF nights, this time exploring sounds that are already intrinsically close: Afro-Cuban Jazz. This meeting promises a vibrant musical experience, where academic and traditional forms intertwine in an immersive symphony.
